Stockwoods lawyer Owen Rees appeared as co-counsel for Amnesty International in an appeal challenging theCanadian Security Intelligence Service‘s policy of destroying source documents. Amnesty argued that theCharter of Rights and international law require that the circumstances relevant to whether information may have been obtained through torture or other prohibited means must be disclosed to the named person and the judge in security certificate proceedings.
