Stockwoods Lawyer helps launch Supreme Court Advocacy Institute

Together with the Honourable Frank Iacobucci and Gregoire Webber, Owen Rees has founded the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute. The Institute’s objectives are to assist the bar, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the public by increasing the effectiveness and quality of advocacy before the Court. The Institute’s program will be offered in the format of an advocacy session, in which counsel argue their upcoming appeal before an advocacy panel. Advocacy panels will be composed of senior appellate counsel, professors of law, and former Supreme Court law clerks. The advocacy panel will then offer counsel constructive feedback on their oral submissions. The Institute’s services are free and non-partisan.

The Institute will be officially launched in Ottawa on February 22, 2007. For more information on the Institute, click here. For more information or to contact Owen Rees, click here.
