We are regularly engaged in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters, dealing regularly with counsel New York, Boston and Washington, DC. Our clients include private and public companies, and their directors and officers (including special committee advisory work). In addition to appearing before the courts (Commercial List), we have extensive commercial arbitration experience, both dealing with domestic disputes and international commercial arbitrations subject to the UNICTRAL Model Law.

Representative Work
Acting for a holding company of David Thomson, the Chair of Thomson Reuters, in court proceedings about the Royal Charter of the Hudson’s Bay Company.
Acted for Sailingstone Capital Partners LLC (a US -based hedge) fund in an international arbitration regarding a mine in Mongolia worth approximately $20 billion USD.
Acted for Beam Communications Inc., an Australian publicly traded company, in an arbitral dispute with its joint venture partner, Roadpost Inc. over ownership of the joint venture company.
Acted for Continental Bank in a landmark decision on the remedy for breach of privilege in civil proceedings: Currency Exchange Canada Inc. v. Sprott, 2023 ONCA 61
