Over a 12-week term, students will participate in an open non-rotational program and work alongside some of the most respected litigators in the country while gaining invaluable hands-on experience. They will be introduced to the day- to- day practice of law through exposure to the firm’s variety of practice areas including commercial litigation, administrative and public law, and criminal law. Our boutique size allows for meaningful student engagement where students will receive purposeful, substantive work and play a key role in research, drafting, client meetings, court attendances, and file strategy.
Mentorship and Feedback
Students can look forward to structured support through assigned partner and associate mentors, ongoing feedback conversations and specialized student training. The summer program also includes fun and interactive social events where mentors, other lawyers and our students will have the opportunity to get to know each other personally.
The Stockwoods Summer Student
We want to support the training and development of students who have a keen and demonstrated interest in litigation and who have a passion for all aspects of the law and advocacy. Along with strong academic credentials, excellent research, and organizational skills, we are looking for students who have participated in moots, clinics, debates, or other activities that align with their interests.
For students, this is more than a summer position — it’s a formative step toward a future as an exceptional advocate.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our firm is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those who identify as Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ2S+, or persons with disabilities. Accommodations for applicants are available throughout the recruitment process upon request.
