COVID-19 Response Update – Continuity of Operations

In light of current public health conditions, and the unprecedented suspensions of most or all non-urgent court and tribunal proceedings, please be advised that Stockwoods LLP has decided to suspend our physical office operations.  This suspension takes effect as of March 16, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until further notice but at any rate until at least March 23, 2020.  This measure is taken in order to protect our staff, clients, other participants in the justice system, and the public at large from the spread of COVID-19, and as part of our professional responsibilities.

This physical office closure DOES NOT mean you should not reach out to us if you are a client or in need of the urgent and important legal services our firm provides. While many ongoing court matters will be delayed or suspended for a period of time, our lawyers will prioritize urgent matters, take the necessary measures to ensure continuity of the services we provide, and discharge our responsibilities to the continued administration of justice.  As indicated in our March 13 update, effective contingencies are in place to ensure our lawyers and staff are accessible remotely, and capable of completing all filings, urgent court and tribunal appearances, communications and other continuing obligations regardless of physical presence at our office, including through video-conferencing methods if needed.

For particular questions or concerns, please contact the lawyer(s) or staff member(s) working on your matter directly.  All our lawyers’ contact information remains available on this website and staff contact information will be provided on an “as needed” basis by individual lawyers.  We recommend using email as the default communication method for the present time.

We thank all our clients, colleagues at the bar, and community in advance, for co-operating to prioritize the continued functioning of the justice system and access to legal services in a time of unprecedented uncertainty.  We will continue to provide updates as circumstances evolve via this website, and via our Twitter account @stockwoodsllp
