Investigations
Organizations of all sorts are increasingly conducting investigations in response to workplace complaints, whistleblower reports, and regulatory concerns. Often these investigations occur in parallel with regulatory and even police investigations. Sometimes they take place under the glare of the public spotlight in rapidly evolving crises. Reputational stakes are high, and liability concerns may be multi-faceted where organizations face civil, regulatory and criminal exposure. Privilege and confidentiality may be paramount. So too may the confidence of the public. Above all else, it is imperative that such investigations be conducted thoroughly and fairly.
Our lawyers (including the former Associate Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Justice) are uniquely positioned to manage these crises. We are universally regarded for fairness and independence. We move with speed and discretion. We practice across the full spectrum of litigation and are therefore adept at managing civil, regulatory and criminal risks. We have acted for public institutions, corporations, regulators, and individual witnesses/respondents in investigations, as well as in some of the most high-profile public inquiries in the country. Most importantly, we are trial lawyers and know how to get to the truth.
