Phil Tunley speaks on national security and human rights

On October 29, 2014, Phil Tunley spoke at the conference “Arar +10: National Security and Human Rights a Decade Later”, put on by Amnesty International Canada and others, and hosted by the University of Ottawa Center for International Policy Studies.

The conference featured a panel comprised of the Commissioners of all three inquiries into these matters in recent years, The Hons. Dennis O’Connor, Frank Iacobucci, and John Major, in a remarkable exchange particularly on the lack of follow-up by the Government of Canada on their recommendations.  Video links to that exchange, and to Phil’s presentation on the civil actions being conducted by Stockwoods on behalf of torture victims, Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Elmaati, and Muayyed Nureddin, can be found here.
