On November 26, 2019, our partner, Gerald Chan, spoke at the Canadian Litigation Forum in Toronto on the topic of “Investigations: Trends and Drivers”. Gerald presented alongside experienced in-house counsel (Leola Pon, General Counsel, TDSB; Laura McLaren, Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Managing Director, BMO Capital Markets) and a forensic accountant (Nicole Wells, Senior Managing Director, Forensic & Litigation Consulting, FTI Consulting). Among other things, they discussed crisis management for companies facing data breaches, workplace harassment complaints, and foreign corruption concerns, as well as conducting internal investigations and protecting privilege in the process.
