Justin Safayeni to speak on civil forfeiture

On January 7, 2017, Justin Safayeni will be speaking as part of a panel on civil forfeiture in Ontario, at the Canadian Constitution Foundation’s annual Law and Freedom Conference in Toronto.  Justin’s experience in this area includes acting as amicus curiae in a recent case involving the attempted seizure of a sailboat, where the Court accepted many of his arguments and forfeiture was ultimately denied.  He has also authored a primer on civil forfeiture in For the Defence magazine (Vol 37, No. 1).  To register for the conference, click here.
