Nader Hasan to speak at the Law Society’s “Criminal Law and the Charter” conference

At the Law Society of Upper Canada’s annual conference on Criminal Law and the Charter, Stockwoods counsel Nader R. Hasan will be discussing recent developments in the law of proportionality and discretion in sentencing.  Topics will include recent Supreme Court of Canada decisions on mandatory minimum sentences, the Truth in Sentencing Act, and proposals for legislative reform.  The conference is being held this year at the Donald Lamont Learning Centre, 130 Queen Street West, Toronto, on Saturday, September 17, 2016 (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM).
