On February 14, 2007, Phil Tunley participated in the Advocates’ Society “Courthouse Series” in Toronto. Phil’s session, “Bring your Theory to Life in Opening Statement”, was the second in this year’s series, focussing on developing a strategy and using a “theory of the case” through the key steps in a civil, non-jury case. Phil provided a live demonstration of Opening Statement for the Defendant, before Madam Justice Stewart. Phil’s presentation was video-taped for future use by the Advocates’ Society.
