Katherine Hensel to speak on the sentencing of Aboriginal peoples in Canadian courts

Stockwoods lawyer Katherine Hensel will appear on a panel at the spring conference of the Ontario Crown Attorneys Association on May 16, 2007. Katherine will address the legal, practical and cultural implications of the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision in R. v. Gladue, concerning the sentencing of aboriginal offenders. Appearing with Katherine on the panel will be Mr. Justice Timothy Whetung of the Ontario Court of Justice, and Crown Attorneys Rupert Ross and Fred Bartley.
