Scott Hutchison co-chairs major Search and Seizure Conference in Calgary

On January 18 and 19, Scott Hutchison co-chaired the 2007 Osgoode Professional Development Program in Search and Seizure Law in Canada with Fraser Kelly ’85, Crown Counsel, Ministry of Attorney General (ON), and Scott Fenton, of Fenton Smith. An expert faculty provided delegates the latest information on a number of hot-button issues including: law office searches; grow-op investigations; police powers in roadblocks and dragnets; and production orders. The Calgary-based conference, which has been has run in Toronto 4 times over the last 8 years, was attended by over 200 Crown attorneys, judges, defence lawyers, and law enforcement professionals. Scott has co-chaired all five versions of the program since its inception.

Scott’s participation is a result of his practice expertise in search and seizure law, both in the civil and criminal context, reflected in his standard texts Search and Seizure Law in Canada and Hutchison’s Canadian Search Warrant Manual. For more information or to contact Scott, click here.
