Stockwoods represents subjects of Iacobucci Inquiry against Government of Canada

Stockwoods has been retained by Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati, and Muayyed Nureddin to prosecute each of their civil claims against the Government of Canada, in respect of the actions of Canadian officials which contributed to their detention, mistreatment, and torture in Syria and/or Egypt during the period following the attacks of September 11, 2001.  Stockwoods has agreed to assign separate lead counsel to each case.  Lead counsel for Mr. Almalki is Paul Le Vay, for Mr. Abou-Elmaati, Phil Tunley, and for Mr. Nureddin,Scott Hutchison.  A recent “Internal Inquiry” Report concerning the treatment of these Canadian Citizens, by former Supreme Court Justice Frank Iacobucci, can be found here.
